Friendship Quote=rich

27 Jan

“Friendship is acting out God’s love for people in tangible ways. We are made to represent the love of God in each other’s lives, so that each person we walk through life with has a more profound sense of God’s love for them. Friendship is an opportunity to act on God’s behalf in the lives of people that we’re close to, reminding each one who God is. When we do the hard, intimate work of friendship, we bring a little more divine into daily life. We get to remind one another about the bigger, more beautiful picture that we can’t always see from where we are.

True friendship is a sacred thing, important thing, and it happens when we drop down into that deeper level of who we are, when we cross over into the broken, fragile parts of ourselves. We have to give something up in order to get friendship like that. We have to give up our need to be perceived as perfect. We have to give up our ability to control what people think of us. We have to overcome the fear that when they see the depths of who we are, they’ll leave. But what we give up is nothing in comparison to what this kind of friendship gives to us. Friendship is about risk. Love is about risk. If we can control it and manage it and manufacture it, then it’s something else, but if it’s really love, really friendship, it’s a little scary around the edges.”

More Directors…

15 Dec

Will Marshall is from Ellijay which is the Apple Capitol of Georgia.  He is a senior at Georgia Tech.  Will has served on a WinShape Camps C3 Team for the past two summers with two different roles.  One year he served as a Team Time leader and then came back this past summer to work as a Production Director.  He has a passion for camp and being with kids.  This summer he is looking forward to serving as C3 Team Director and being able to lead a staff that will be able to impact children, their families, and communities for the Kingdom.

Stephen Moore has served with WinShape for two summers and will be coming back to serve as a Team Director.  He is a junior at Covenant College but considers home Greenwood, South Carolina.  When asked why he is returning to C3 as a Director he says, ”I really enjoyed my previous two years with C3, and really look forward to working as a director.  The purpose and vision of C3 and Connect Ministries is powerful, and I am excited to work when them in order to help carry out that vision by sharing the Word of God in cities and towns throughout the Southeast.”

Jarrett Skov has served with WinShape Camps C3 for two summers: one as a photographer and last year as a Production Director. He is from Peachtree City Georgia and is currently a junior at Georgia Tech. Jarrett Is excited about being a C3 Team Director for the first time this summer.  He is thrilled by the opportunity of leading a team of people with the mission of sharing the love of Christ with kids and their families and helping them get connected with a church which can help foster that relationship.

WinShape Camps C3 Team Director Spotlights

14 Dec

Over the next few days, we are pleased to introduce you to the WinShape Camps C3 Team Directors:

Brandon Cullum is a returning C3 Team Director for WinShape Camps C3.  This will be his third year to serve with WinShape.  He is currently living in Athens, Georgia and in his first year of studies for his Masters of Divinity from New Orleans Theological Seminary. When asked what he learned from last year he said, “An ant colony in your van makes for a very uncomfortable van ride.  But really the summer continually taught me how much I can’t do, how fast I can lose focus and how easy it is to fail.  Through that I was taught how to lead others.  Lead them to finding their strengths in my weaknesses and corporately run after the huge dream cast in front of us.”

Daniel Black is a senior at the University of South Carolina and plans to graduate in May with a Business Management and Marketing Degree.  Last year he served with WinShape Camps C3 as a Team Director and we are excited to have him back again for this summer.  For him the highlight from being a director last year was seeing a group of people rally around the vision of C3 and spread the Gospel across the Southeast.  Not only to kids at the camp, but to the communities themselves.  Witnessing a forty-five year old caretaker of a camper in Louisiana come to know Christ was something that he will never forget.

Look for more in the next few days…

Do you recall the video from last week?

The one where Josh made sure that KT knew he was back in the office. Where Josh decided to park in such a way that KT had to climb across his car after several failed attempts at squeezing in.

Well, the story continued.

KT parked after there where Josh could not leave. Total block move. Not even Josh’s Trooper could climb out.

Josh has a new born little girl and two other little girls. It was time for him to go home. His wife was calling. But KT said no…

NO

It was nearly like a hostage situation.

Josh plead for KT to move his car. He apologized and said he would never do it again.

All present in the office were loving the moment of humor and humility, except Josh.

The following video is take by KT after Josh has apologized off camera but remained unrepentant on camera…
